What Makes Writing Difficult
The most difficult thing about writing is figuring out where to put things in a sentence. For instance, I do not know when to use comas, colons, or when to start a new paragraph. Also it does not make sense as to where these things go. It can also become confusing to decide when you need to use either a comma or a colon. Finally, once you figure out what one to use, it becomes difficult to figure out if you used it too many times. For these reasons, I think that trying to figure out where things go in a sentence is what makes writing difficult for me.

College Life
Over the past three weeks, I have learned a lot about the college life. I have experienced a few surprising things at college. Being on your own would have to be the biggest suprise. When you are away at college, your parents are not there to wake you up and get you going. Being at college makes you become more of an adult. Also, teachers in college do not really have much to say about your attendance in classes.

My Most Indispensable Possession
My most indispensable possession would have to be my cell phone. It is a typical girl answer, but I would not be able to live without it. My cell phone is basically my life. If I ever need to get ahold of someone, I can use my phone to call them. When anything bad happens, I can call someone to come and try to help me get out of whatever I got myself into. There are people who would say that is not a very good possession because my phone could easily die, or something could happen to it. My phone also keeps me in contact with people who I don't get to talk to all the time. You can text people who live half way around the world on your phone. These are just a few reasons why my cell phone is my most indispensable possession.
Reflection
When given the topic, it took me awhile to decide what to chose. I have a lot of things that I would consider my most indispensable possessions. It was difficult to decide which thing to write on.

Writing Experiences
A certain type of writing that I have done in the past is journalism. I took it as a class in high school and I enjoyed it. We basically had the choice to write whatever we felt like writing that day. In the class, we had our own journal, and we could write anything that came to our mind. Everyday we had something new to write about, and that is why I think I enjoyed that class as much as I did.
As a result of journalism, we learned to free write. That means that we could do what we wanted to do. If you get the choice to write what you want to write, you can get a lot more down on paper than if it were assigned to you. When doing free writing, you can have endless stories to tell, and it makes your range of writing better. I personally learned how to talk in more than one person. When you can get up to third person, your writing can become fun.
When this class is finished, I hope to brush up on my writing skills. I seem to mis-use some things when I write. After the class, I will be able to write a great paper with few mistakes. Once I write a paper with few mistakes, I will be able to move on to a better writing class! Hopefully, I will enjoy this class.

Starting my future out at DSU
Like any other senior, I had to make a decision as to where I was going to attend college in the fall. I had a few choices, but none really jumped out at me. Typically, I could attend USD, SDSU, BHS, or DSU. A few of my friends made their decisions rather quickly. They were going to USD. I went to USD to take a campus tour, and I decided that it was not a school for me. There were a ton of students, and the staff to student ratio was high. Then, a friend of mine told me that she was going to go to DSU. So, I came to DSU and did a tour. I liked that the staff to student ratio was lower than the other colleges. That is how I made my decision to come to Madison.
As of now, I plan to attend DSU for the next four years. For my freshmen year, I am just getting some of the general credits out of the way. By next year, I hope to have my major picked out, and then start taking the required classes for my major. After I have my major picked out, then my classes will be easier to pick out. I will hopefully be able to do something in elementary education.
After my credits are complete, I will become a teacher. Working with children around five years old would be the best age for me. I have worked at a daycare for almost a year and a half now, and I enjoy being around children. The reason I would chose to work with that age group is because you are an important part in their future years. If all works out, my future with children will be a great one!
